WooHoo!

My wonderful husband got a bonus at work and spent it on me!

He got me this!

It's a Cuisinart 14-Cup Food Processor!

I've never had a food processor before!

I don't even know where to start!

Suggestions, please!

Is that enough exclaiming? : D

Guacamole!
Seriously... Mr. B bought me one right after we first were married 15 years ago, and it has been the most used appliance I've ever had.
The elephant garlic also looks really cool... I hope that Chad will get it to me.... otherwise I may just have to haul it to the southside...

HI WR! CC (Jill) here. Pie crust, pre-made biscuit mix, tepenade, pesto, hummus, salsa, coleslaw, shredded carrot salad. You can find those probably at WTM or on line somewhere. Have fun and squeeze that man of yours!

Hi! amy3js here. Have you seen the recipe book "deceptively delicious"? Its about how to pure veggies and stick them in everything you cook- like spinach in brownies. Anywho, my MIL got it for me for christmas but it requires a food processor (which I don't have). So I would suggest getting that book and doing some of those recipes. Then tell me how they turned out. ;) lol.

Everything Jill said and chopped onions, garlic, crumble topping for struessel, cracker crumbs, deviled eggs, egg salad, mashed potatoes, pumpkin for pies, babyfood and if you have shred attachments: cheese, julienne/shredded taters, shredded carrots.

Basically anything you might chop, mix or puree in a blender but better.

Thanks for all the ideas ladies! Now you will all have to give me recipes! :D

Don't you already have recipes that include chopped stuff? LOL

There are some really good recipes for hummus on WTM - mmmmm - one of them is mine. :D

Ok, maybe I should have said "instructions". For instance, I know how to make mashed potatoes but I don't know how to make them in a food processor -- seems like they would turn to paste.

I love my food processor! My favorite thing to use mine for is homemade pancakes, or any recipe really where you mix the wet ingredients in one bowl and the dry ones in another. I put all the wet ingredients in first, blend them up, then add the dry ones. One bowl to cleanup. :)

I found a food processor 'how to' book at the thrift store that was very helpful. It's not a cookbook as much as it shows you what each blade does, and how to load different things for different cuts. I bet a good food processor cookbook would do the same. Amazon has some that are super cheap if you buy them used. Or you could check the thrift store! :) I would let you borrow mine, but by the time we paid shipping to/from, you might as well get one of your own. :D
